My Approach

Therapy provides a safe place to explore your experiences and feelings about people and situations in your life, as well as yourself. It also allows a chance for greater self-understanding and acceptance including understanding how past experiences shape the way we view others and ourselves. I believe everyone can benefit from sitting with a therapist that truly listens and understands. My job is to be that person who truly listens and understands you! Many new clients feel overwhelmed at the start of therapy. I understand this, and I strive to create an environment that is warm, empathic, safe, and non-judgmental. Our genuine therapeutic relationship offers you an opportunity to experience relationships and yourself in new ways leading to opportunities to heal and grow. Throughout our work together you will learn a great deal about yourself, your role in relationships, as well as have an experience of being heard, understood, and validated in new and transformative ways. I warmly welcome all my clients just as they are while also inviting them to change.

I am a Qualified Mental Health Professional and a Licensed Marriage and Family Intern. I hold a Masters Degree in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling from George Fox University, Portland, Oregon. My education focused on the influences and impacts of the systems one has lived in and currently lives within to help understand the individual's, couple's, or family's current struggles. Major coursework included; Cultural Foundations and Social Justice, Family Therapy, Couple Therapy, Human Development, Human Sexuality, Marriage Strong, Addictions, Interpersonal Neurobiology and Play Therapy. I have additional training and have completed my externship in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
